Sex Advice/Oral Sex - Sex For The First Time

Expert: Hilary - 10/19/2009

Question
I had sex for the first time a couple days ago. Basically, the condom ripped at the tip and so I bought an emergency contraceptive pill (Plan B Step-One) and I took it within six to eight hours of having sexual intercourse. Unfortunately, I do not keep track of my menstrual cycle so I do not know when the best time to have sex is. At the time of having sex, I was not and am not on my period. Luckily, my partner is mostly positive that he did not "cum". Is there a chance that I will become pregnant? I'm extremely worried and consumed with the thought of being pregnant. I do not know who else to go to without receiving judgment or criticism. Please help me with as much advice as possible! Thank you!

Answer
If he thinks he didn't cum, and you took the EC pill, I can almost guarantee that you are not pregnant. There's like a 0.1% chance. Wait a month. There's nothing you can do between now and your next period other than wait.

Usually, it's harder to get pregnant than you think.

Just keep on using condoms, and keep being safe! You're doing better than most girls at this rate!

I cannot help you much further than this. I have never been pregnant so I can't tell you much more. Good luck!
