Answer
Hello Shakeel,

Thank you for your question.

If you're having a normal pregnancy, sex is considered safe during all stages of the pregnancy, not to say that you will feel like it.  Many expectant mothers find that their desire for sex fluctuates during certain stages in the pregnancy. Also, many women find that sex becomes uncomfortable as their bodies get larger. Many expectant mothers find that their desire for sex fluctuates during certain stages in the pregnancy. If is very important that you and your partner keep the lines of communication open regarding your sexual relationship. Talk about other ways to satisfy your need for intimacy. You also may need to experiment with other positions for sex to find those that are the most comfortable.

There are times when it is not safe to have sexual intercourse during your pregnancy.  If you do have oral sex, your partner should not blow air into your vagina. Blowing air can cause an air embolism (a blockage of a blood vessel by an air bubble), which can be potentially fatal for mother and child.  You should also be very cautious when having sex if you do not know the history of your partner.  If you become infected with a disease, it may be transmitted to your baby, with potentially dangerous consequences.

Please keep in mind, it is always a good idea to talk to your doctor or mid-wife, if you are ever unsure about anything regarding your pregancy and your sexuality.

Keep It Safe!
