Anal tissue is one of the most delicate tissues of the human body, you run a major risk using anything other than what is made specifically for anal penetration. There are some great toys out there made for beginners use to advanced use.

You want to make sure that you are being safe while experimenting with anal stimulation. Add lube to your finger/toy and your anus. The tissue of the rectum is sensitive, it doesn't self-lubricate as does the vagina, and it can suffer little micro tears and abrasions quite easily.
