Sex Toys - sores from a vibrator

Expert: Katie D. - 3/25/2009

Question
QUESTION:  I recently purchased a FLEX O PLEASER which is a flexible plastic vibrator and have been getting sores after it's use.  I don't use it often or even for a prolonged period of time but it seems that after each use I have sores that require peroxide for healing.  I was wondering if some people are allergic to these plastic products.
thank you........

ANSWER: Are you cleaning the toy after each use?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: Are you serious...I'm an intelligent 63 year old woman...of course I clean it after every use!

Answer
I am sorry if I upset you by my question. Believe it or not many people clean their toys inadequately by using just a baby wipe or rinsing them off, I didn't intend my question to come out the wrong way.

Yes, some people can be allergic to the plastics used for these toys. I am not that familiar with the Flex O Pleaser so I looked it up, it looks like it is made of a hard plastic. It isn't that common to have a reaction from hard plastics most skin allergies come from the toys have a synthetic soft rubbers such as Silicone, Jelly, or "Realistic" feel.

Are you using lubrication? Alot of people have reactions to their lubrication & think it is the toys that is giving them the problem.

Hope this helps...Katie D.
