Question Hi
My computer with windows XP gets a lot of family use-games,homework MSN,chat,internet downloads.
Every few months I run the installed maintenace clean up and do a virus /spyware scan.
I also discoverd that freeware programs like "XP boost' and 'Glary Utilities' seem to help boost performance even more,gettting rid of tons more junk and really improving performance.
However,I sometimes find that after running the utility program, something screws up and I find one or more files has been corrupted so I end up uninstalling the utility or even doing a system restore.
Still I like these.
Can you reccommmend a good SAFE effective one?
Answer I suggest you do not try too many utilities. They are robots designed to do maintenance for your system, but they are just robots. They do not know exactly which file is hurmful which is not. I reinstall my system every few months, sometimes maybe a year. No perfect solution for this problem.
