Question QUESTION:
I have some videos in AVI format and would like to convert them to DVD
format. ( I would like to distribute them to some orphanage schools )
I would like to know which DVD format is most commonly used and good in
quality.
And what is the best way to convert?
Thank you for your consideration.
ANSWER: Their is a free program called DVD Flick, which can convert your AVI files To DVD format and burn then on a blank DVD. Their are two DVD formats (DVD+R and DVD-R). DVD+R is more common then DVD-R. Most DVD players these days will be able to play the minus R these days, so it really doesn't matter. Here is the link for the program. Their is also good instructions provided on the site on how to use this program to Convert your file and put it on DVD. http://www.dvdflick.net/download.php

QUESTION: Thank you for your reply.
What are .vob, ntsc and pal formats.
Can I ingnore all of the above to make a DVD video?
Answer Your DVD software should convert to .Vob automaticly, and your version will be NTSC. Pal version is only for European DVD players, so unless you live in that area, you will need to convert to Pal format. When you are done converting, you should have to folders, one that says video and the other will say audio. If the software won't let you burn it to DVD after its done, just open Nero or what ever software you have and select the DVD video option, drag and past both folders, then burn.
