Question Hi Russell. My kids left some dvds out on the tv stand last night and this morning the all look like they have water marks on them, I'm not sure it's water marks but it's not coming off & dvd won't play. I've tried soapy water & alcohol & windex to try and get it off but no luck. Any ideas?? Thanks so much.
Answer You can buy a CD scratch remover for like $30. This will cover the water marks with a ration mark and should play fine in your DVD Player. It works in most cases, unless the CD's that are damaged beyond repair. Here is the site to a really nice CD dcotor. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cd+scrac...
You should make backup copies of all your DVDS. Their is a program called DVDFab Platinum, which will be able to make backups of your entire DVD collection. Its not to expensive and can save you hundreds of dollars. You can also try making copies of the DVD's that were ruined and see if the copies work. http://www.dvdfab.com/
