Shareware/Freeware/Audio Mixer

Question
Hi,
I have a Dell Dimension 8300, suddenly after 3 years, the audio mixer program stopped working.  I reinstalled it from the original program disc, and it works.  For about 10 minutes.  Then it disappears again.  The error that comes up is "A problem with your sound hardware"  Does this mean my sound card is bad?  Or is the audio mixer program bad?  I think the program is SoundMAX?  I've even rolled the computer back to before the problem, and the problem is still there.  Any ideas?

Thank you for your time!
Darren

PS  Yes, I know just enough about computers to be harmful to computers!

Answer
Hi Darren,

Thanks for your question. You made me laugh with your "PS". *grin*
Yes, I believe it is your sound card, for sure. Have you changed operating systems?

You might also want to try this site first:

Go thru all the steps, and see if it helps.

Hope this helps you out!
