Question
I have 2 Shetland sheepdogs, I would like to know the oldest living Shetland sheepdogs. Mine are a male, 16 years, 1/2 years old.  and a female she is 13 years old. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Jeffrey,

Sorry, I'm not Guinness and don't keep up with the records.  However sixteen is o-l-d for a Sheltie.  I think I had a question once on an 18 year old Sheltie which is extremely unusual.  Typical life span is 12-14 years in my understanding however with a good diet and proper attention to their health I'm sure 16 is going to become more common.
