Question my grandmas sheltie just had a litter of beautiful puppies. she also has a male
beagle and a male sheltie, we are unsure which of the male dogs is the father.
all the puppies have sheltie markings and short hair. is there any way to tell
which dog is the daddy and/ or if the puppies will have long hair as adults?
Answer Hi Brandie,
Puppies are a great deal of fun, however there are too many in the world already. We won't know who is the father until a few weeks down the road and more physical characteristics become obvious. I would keep an eye on the paws and shape of the body at he head and neck to see which is which.
Can I get you to do something for me? Please ask grandma to have her babies "fixed" so that there isn't a question of who is the parent. Also, being fixed is better for them.
