Subject: no mother for our puppies

Question
I have five 5 week old Shih Tzu puppies that have no mother. Their mother died of snake bites and I was wondering how do I take care of them when they are not even weaned yet

Answer
Melody:  I am so sorry about the mom!  So sad!

You can feed them the Canned puppy formula for 3 or 4 days.  Then, buy some puppy food and let it soak in the puppy formula..   They should enjoy this a bunch!

Some good foods would be:
Innova, Wellness, Or Solid Gold brands.  The brands I have listed are excellent quality foods.

After two weeks, just soak the food in a little bit of water.  Before you know it they won't need it soaked at all.

If any of the pups do not like the pup food, then try some cottage cheese.  Very good for them and lots of protien.

Best wishes with this!
