Question
Hello I am wondering how dogs are shown what paperwork do puppies need(what should I look for when buying) to be able to be shown?

Answer
Great question!

You need to have AKC puppy registration papers FROM AKC, not CKC or UKC or any of the others it must come from AKC.

If you are going to show in obedience or agility or any of the sporting type shows you are good to go. If you want to show in the breed (beauty) shows you can show your dog with those same AKC papers but I would greatly suggest that you talk to show breeders and explain to them what you want to do because not all puppies end up being show quality.

Best of luck!
Yolanda
