Question -
Hi. I am considering buying a Vizsla and am curious if I would be able to leave the dog home alone while I am at work. I am avery active person and would be able to give the dog plenty of attention and exercise after work and all day on weekends. We could go for a short walk in the morning and a longer one in the evening when I get home. I heard that a Vizsla's energy level is very high and they can be destructive. I leave for work at 7:00 am and return at 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Thanks for your help! John, Feasterville Pa.
Answer -
Absolutely not, would you be able to leave a Vizsla from 7am till 5pm, nor should you leave any breed that long on its own.High energy or not leaving a dog 10 hours alone would be tantamount to neglect. Dogs and Vizslas in particular crave human company. You would have a very destructive, anxious and bored dog.

Answer Hi There,
NO, two Vizslas left for 10 hours would be no kinder than one. In fact you would probably have two very wild dogs. When would you fit in training, toillet training etc with one dog let alone two. One reputable breder would sell you two puppies. I will never sell two puppies to the same household and would never consider a home where a puppy was going to be left more than 3 hours a day.Put the idea of dog wonership out of your mind until you are in a position to give a dog the company and training it requires. If you own a dog when you can devote the time and effort to it, you will have a wonderful companion.
