Shrubs - Hydrangas

Expert: Edward Gulliksen - 7/29/2007

Question
I have a 12 inch plant that I receved from my grandaughter for Mother's Day.  I have it in the ground on the East side of my house and want to move it.  When do I move it and to what type of location?  Thank you.

Answer
Janet,

You should move it in the fall once the weather starts to cool down. As far as location, choose an area that recieves filtered sunlight or is shaded for the majority of the day. These are the areas that Hydrangeas prefer. They will grow in full sun, but they would then require supplemental watering.

Good luck,
Ed Gulliksen
