Question
I have 6 large bushes that have grown from tiny plants over 12 years. Just today I noticed they've begun dying from the top. The ones most in the shade are half gone as if overnight. The others are just starting to die at the top. Help!!!

I am in GA and yes it's been in the 100s all last week with no rain. Is that it?

Answer
Liz,

I would recommend that you check the insides of the plants for euyonmus scale. The heat and no rain fall has also contributed to the decline of the plants.

I would recommend treating them for scal with a broad spectrum insecticide and watering them heavily for the rest of the heat wave. You may need to prune them down this fall to encourage new stronger growth.

Good luck,
