Shrubs - snowball bush

Expert: Edward Gulliksen - 8/6/2007

Question
My recently transplanted snowball bush has developed a black edge around most of it's leaves.  I live in Maryland and we have had very hot dry conditions - I water at least twice a week - slow watering for about twenty minutes.  Suggestions for proper care please.  Thank you so much!

Answer
Mary,

The black edges are from drought stress. You need to water the plant for 20 min. every day during the summer if it was recently transplanted. Put down a little organic fertilizer to help strengthen the plant and encourage new root growth.

Good luck,
Ed Gulliksen
