Question I came accross this spoon while moving my fiance's Great Aunt's things when he moved...he says he knows nothing of the spoon or other items... it's highly tarnished, has the stamp on the back of the handle with the smith's company name and dainty three leaf design on each side of the stamp. there's a delicate floral design on the front...the spoon part is shaped like a heart, I keep thinking it is some kind of sugar spoon?? I haven't found anything like it on the net, would you have any knowledge of the history of this patern??
Answer Hello Angela. Yes, it's probably a sugar spoon by the description of the bowl. Without being able to see the pattern, I can't tell you what it is. I can tell you, though, that it's silverplate.
If you'd like to post a photo of the pattern, I should be able to I.D. it for you.
