Question Hi Michelle,
I'm trying to find info on the "Louis XV" pattern by Durgin. So far, I've been able to find info on the origin of the company but nothing on the pattern. I'm giving some demitasse spoons as a gift and just wanted to give some info on the pattern, such as how the design came to be, or if it was named for anyone in particular, or if it was commissioned for any royalty etc. I know the issue date was 1891. I'm just not sure where to go or if there is any info available. I hope you can help with any info you can find.
Thanking you in advance,
Millie
Answer Hello Millie. I did quite a lot of research on this pattern over the holiday, but couldn't come up with any information. I was hoping the patent would be available online, but it isn't. You can be sure it was named for the French king, but that's about it.
