Recently my mother-law passed away and we came across a number of silver pieces and we would like to find out more about. My sister-law thinks some of the pieces belong to my mother-laws parents.
People have been inquiring about them so we need to find out more information before decisions can be made about what to do with them.

Answer Hello James. My area of expertise is with sterling, and I will not give valuations on silverplated holloware. Three of the items you've described are silverplate (Viking dish, Rogers Hamilton set, and the salt & pepper). If the other three items are marked Sterling or 925/1000, then I can help you but will need a much more thorough description to give you an accurate estimate. If they're not so marked, then they're silverplate as well.
