Question My mother-in-law is giving up here home and has a large set of Oneida Community Plate flatware. We are trying to determine the value of this. We live in Ontario Canada. The set contains 24 knives, 24 dinner forks, 23 tablespoons, 26 teaspoons, 12 coffee spoons, 2 serving spoons, 1 met fork, 1 gravy ladle, 1 sugar spoon, 1 pickle ford and 1 butter knife. Can you help us out?
Answer Hello Judy. Without knowing which pattern you have, I can't really give you an accurate valuations. A set of your size in an average pattern (which is the majority of what's out there) would have a retail value in the $150 to $300 range. If it's a highly collectible pattern, the price will go up.
If you'd like to figure out which pattern you have, you can go to replacements.com and go through the thumbnail photos under Oneida (warning: there are a LOT of them).
