Silver and Flatware - maker - Silver Breakfast Knives

Expert: Michelle Lieberman - 6/17/2009

Question
Hi Michele
I wondered if you could tell me anything about this silver breakfast knife. I no nothing about it and my eyes are not good enough to even make out the hallmark, so it may not be American.

Even if it is not American, any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
tm.

Answer
Hello Thomas.  I'm sorry, I'm not going to be any help here.  Normally, if when you see a mark that looks like that on American flatware, it's silverplate.  If you're sure it's silver and not plated, it's likely it's not American-made.

You might want to try asking over at one of the International forums at 925-1000.com.

Good luck to you.

- Michelle
