Silver and Flatware - sterling silver

Expert: Michelle Lieberman - 6/23/2009

Question
I recently came into possession of some sterling silver I have 6 knives 6 forks 6 salad forks 12 teaspoon and 6 butter knives by Roger & Son Victorian Rose and I also have by Northumbria  6 knives 6 forks 6 salad forks 5 teaspoon 5 round soup spoon 5 oval soup spoon 2 serving spoon 6 butter knives 1 sugar spoon and 1 carving set knife fork and knife sharpener. What would each set be worth. Thank You Lucien

Answer
Hello Lucien.

Rogers & Son's Victorian Rose is silverplate, not sterling.  Your set is worth about $100.

Northumbria sterling is from Canada.  In the U.S., your set would be valued in the $700 to $900 range.  I would expect it to be a bit higher in Canada.

Regards,
Michelle
