I bought several of these knives at a flea market for 25 cents each. They were sold with other Wm Rogers Mfg Co International Orleans silverware. The blade is marked "stainless steel" but the handles tarnish. Are they silver or silver plate? What pattern are the knives? What is each piece worth? Should I polish the patina off of them & what is the best method for this? Thx so much!
Answer Hi Stephanie. Other than the stainless mark, is there anything on them that indicates the manufacturer? Without this I can't begin to figure out your pattern (there are 1000's of them). Also, as mentioned in my last post, if the knives are sterling they should be marked somewhere. The marks on knife handles are usually on the sides or the small area where the handle meets the blade. Get a magnifying glass, the marks can be faint and tiny.
