Question My father purchased custom made silverware for his restaurant in Cuba around 1940s. We think it is the Savarin pattern. The back is stamped 1847 ROGERS BROS XS TRIPLE. We think a personalized family crest design is stamped on the top front. It is a profile of a lion holding a cross. We would like to order more since many pieces were lost throughout the years. Can you provide more info on this and how we may order more? Mahalo nui loa, J
Answer Hello J.
It's not an insurmountable task, but what you're asking will end up being very expensive.
You won't have a problem finding the flatware. It will be impossible to find it with your family crest. You could find the flatware and have someone put the crest on it, but then the flatware will have to be re-plated after it's engraved.
I suggest you contact the folks at replacements.com. They should be able locate the pieces, engrave them, and re-plate them, and they'll give you a price up front so you can decide if this is the way you want to go.
