Question
I have what appears to a baby fork from Holmes and Edwardit, it has a basket of flowers with the going up either side. On the back there is also a roman numeral of XIV. There also appears to be a 16 in a cicrle. Can you tell me more? It is monagrammed with an H on the handle.

Next, I have what I think is a baby spoon, it is void of decoration and has Concord on the back of the handle.

Lastly a table spoon, that has "White Rock Silver" stamped on the back of the handle, as well as "B.M.S". "Sclic" is also printed in the same area, although it's backwards.

Anything you could tell me about these objects would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,
Paula

Answer
Hi, Paula.

The Holmes & Edwards fork is made of silver plate. It probably has little value. See the article in the list below that talks about sterling vs silver plate.

I'm not very familiar with Concord but since the word, "Sterling", is absent, I assume this piece is made of silver plate also.

I've come across only one piece from White Rock Silver. It was made of silver plate also. I don't know what the letters mean.

Sorry I could not be more help.

Best wishes,

Jim

If you would like to find buyers of silver, you’ll find ads from such businesses on my blog site: http://www.SilverChatter.com . Look for sellers as well because they have to buy their silver somewhere. You may have to reload the screen a few times to see all the ads.
