I have a COMPLETE SET for 12 that was given to me as a wedding present from my uncles from Germany, back in 1984. Mine consists of the 12 place settings, each consisting of 5 pieces , All the serving pieces, knives(carving, etc), serving set,(which consist of around 20 pieces), leather case, which you select and start building up with what you buy and mine has two levels. At that time all my uncles came together to buy it and they pay around $7,500.00; yes! Seven thousand five hundred dollars before taxes. So it is a pretty expensive set(I heard that as of today, each place setting is worth $1,500.00 , and at least at that time, you could only find it on very exclusive stores . I have been using it daily, and it is like new. BTW, "Hartvergoldet" means " hard electroplated gold. Hope it helps.
