Question
have a spoon marked something like j or i . avery on back having trouble finding anything about this maker. could it be john avery. and what time period is this. thanks mike

Answer
Hi, Mike.

I' not very familiar with this maker. See if your mark matches the mark for John Avery, Jr on this page: http://www.sterlingflatwarefashions.com/Silversmiths/SilversmithsA4.html . There seems to have been a family of at least three silversmiths.

Sorry I could not help more.

Best wishes,

Jim
