Question
SO ARE MY PIECES STERLING SILVER, OR FLATWARE?  I HATE TO KEEP BUGGING YOU ABOUT THIS, BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIND OUT IF THESE ARE WORTH ANYTHING OR NOT.  THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.  I HAVE 4 PATTERNS, ONE IS "HERITAGE", 1 IS "APRIL", ONE IS "EXQUISITE", AND THE LAST ONE SAYS "ONEIDA 1881 WM ROGERS & SONS".  THANKS AGAIN.

Answer
Hello.

If the word, "Sterling", is not on the back of a piece, it probably is made of silver plate. Or, it might be stainless steel. Whatever it is, without the word "Sterling", an International piece is not sterling. The same is true for Oneida. A knife is sometimes an exception in that it may be difficult to find "Sterling" on it.

In general, silver plate flatware sold by an individual generally brings around a dollar or two per piece. Your pieces are a bit "special" so they might bring a dollar or two more each. We don't know what the Oneida pattern is but it is very likely that it follows the same valuation.

Hope this helps.
