pat 1888 my mother has a silver spoon decoration and front and back from top to bottom on the front side is dated 1893 columbus departure to the new world and on the bottom front is worlds columbian exposition taking possession of the new world on the front handle the s and head at top  front middle a man kneeling in front of another man and on the bottom front a cross with many men standing behind the cross on the back side the handle had a large building with the words mines& mining bottom back handle has the pat and signature with a plain bottom back .
i am having trouble locating the correct trade mark with this spoon and we are trying to find the value


This mark was one of those used by William Rogers Manufacturing of Hartford, CT. There were many silver companies with Rogers in the name and it's difficult to keep track of them and all the different marks they used. Many, including the one in question, were taken over by International Silver Company in 1898. Many of the Rogers brands and marks were used by International for years after that.

Your spoon is made of silver plate. Therefore, it has very little value based solely on its silver content. It may have value to collectors of souvenir spoons. I don't deal in souvenir spoons and do not know much about their value. However, you will find other reference sites in this article I wrote a few years ago: .
