Silver and Flatware/Silver Tea Set, Rogers & Bro

Silver Tea Set Piece
Silver Tea Set Piece
Hello, I've come into a silver plated tea set and see that you have a good amount of knowledge in this are. I hope you can help me figure out its relative worth.

Each piece is hand-stamped: ROGERS & BRO on the base. Looking for its provenance, I found there were a number of different Rogers silversmiths. The one I have was established in 1858 at Waterbury by Asa Jr. and Simeon Rogers. The firm was incorporated in Rogers BROS Mfg Co in 1866.

Attached is a photo. If it's not clear enough I'll do my best to shine it up a bit and re-take the shot for you.

Thanks so much in advance,

Jonathan Riseling

This Rogers brand was taken over by International Silver Company in 1898. They continued to use the brand for a number of years. So, as you look around the Internet, you may find your set listed under either company name.

The value is dependent somewhat on the specific pieces in the set and the pattern. I do not recognize the pattern of your set but a typical set in very good condition with all the plating intact being sold by an individual often brings a price in the range of $75 to $125.

Best wishes,

Silver and Flatware
