Subject: Muscle Recovery
Question Hey,
Can you tell me which stage of sleep is optimal for muscle recovery? I'm trying to find the correct length for my power naps.
sry it's not really a disorder but more of an habit.
Thanks!
Answer Stages 3 and 4 are the deepest sleep for muscles to relax. Naps should be no more than 20 minutes. These are power naps. Power naps are not for muscle recovery , no nap is, naps are for sleep recovery. Stage 2 is when the muscles come in which can be 60-90 minutes of sleep. However sleeping this long for a nap is not recommended as it interferes with night time sleep, since stages 2,3,and 4 should be for nighttime sleep not for naps.
