Sleep Disorders - sleep headaches

Expert: Karel Sleis - 11/5/2009

Question
I often develop headaches while I am sleeping. The discomfort can wake me up and I need to get up and walk around for a few minutes to have it go away. I return to bed and fall back to sleep. I do sleep well except for the development of these head aches. What would cause this?

Answer
You can try 3 hours before sleep stay away from chocolate, caramel colored soda like coke and pepsi, ginger ale, root beer, caffeine, alcohol, tea, coffee as all this can give you a headache, if that does not work.  I suggest you go to a neurologist to treat you for chronic daily headache or migraine. feel free to email again karel
