Sleep Disorders/red LED vs. red incandescent

Question
Hi Erica,
Is there a difference between red LED light and incandescent red light in regards to its impact on sleepiness/alertness?

Answer
Hi there. I apologize for the delay in answering! Firstly, I am not 100% sure if red light itself can impact sleepiness or alertness. To be candid, I don't think it does....hence the red light district, where they would not want to promote sleepiness! I do know for sure that the blue light emitted from electronics DEFINATELY promotes alertness. Now as far as incandescent vs LED in any light, the LED is more concentrated in brightness. So for your actual question, I honestly don't think they would differ very much as long as you had them shaded efficiently. I'm sorry if I could not be of more help for you!
