Question
Hello Tomas! I am planning on travelling to Slovakia next summer and would like to visit Bratislava and Trencin. I will be looking forward to hearing from you to see if there is anything that you recommend doing in those two cities. Can you also tell me the best way to get from Bratislava to tencin and how long it takes? Thank you very much and feel free to add any other suggestions. Brett

Answer
Hi Brett,

The best way to get from Bratislava to Trencin is to take a train from Bratislava central station, it operates every 2 hours and journey takes 1,5 hour. You could also take a bus, but it is slower and less convenient.
The train schedule (for today) is here: http://tinyurl.com/d96jx

It's a bit hard to recommend something to see since you didn't tell me what you are interested in - architecture, museums, countryside?
In Trencin, the obvious choice is the castle, which is on the hill near the city centre. The city centre itself is very small and you can see just about everything in a short time. Don't miss the ancient Roman sign on the rock under the hill.
More information about the castle:

Bratislava - just read http://spectacularslovakia.sk/ss2003/02_bratislava.html and choose something :)

If you have more specific questions that I could help you with, let me know.

all the best,

Tomas
