Question My riding MTD mower, sat idle for about two months and it is now not getting fuel to the cylinder. I have had the carburetor off and cleaned it, but cannot find any needle valves or adjustments. It's getting plenty of gas to the carburetor, has plenty of fire and the valves are working. Any idea on what the problem could be and how to solve it? Thanks very much
Answer HELLO LARRY,
Doesn't sound like the two month idle should restrict the movement of fuel to the cylinder. The fuel should be replaced with fuel [enriched with Fresh-Start] . If the carb is ruled out, then check if the spark for defects. Other than the spark I would check the Governor for malfunctioning. Possibly there might be problems in these two areas.
