About Tom Adinolfi
Expertise Can, and will, answer most questions pertaining to small engine repair, and service. But PLEASE furnish me with the proper Model numbers, and types to assure me to be able to answer your questions the most accurately as possible. If the problem is dealing with the frame, drive, or deck portion I need the manufactures numbers, if it is the engine itself, I need it's make and model numbers, rather than the frame's. Tom

Question After running about 10 min. with PTO engaged mowing in moderately heavy grass the engine just stops. No sputters or jerking. We have a new coil and fuel flow is ok. It restarts after cooling down. The PTO load wire at switch is hot enough to melt plastic. Tractor runs fine without PTO engaged.
Answer Your PTO may be in need of replacing, Sounds as if the PTO is maybe slipping, and causing high resistance, in hand overheating the wiring, as it tries drawing too much voltage. The only other thing to check is that nothing on the mower deck is hanging up, and over working the PTO.........Tom
