Subject: John Deer LT155 No Spark

Hello Ben,
My Neighbor has a John Deere LT155 with the 15HP Kohler OHV Engine. He went to start today and it has no spark. No Previous issues. I suspect one of the safety interlocks but I am not sure how to test? Thanks Jim

First of all Try a NEW plug. Could still be electrically duff even if you clean it. Unplug the kill wire from the coil and check for spark again. If still no spark, your coil is bad.If your engine does not have a S.A.M. module (black box with 7 wires coming from it mounted on the black engine shroud), the kill wire will be a single white wire going under the engine shroud. Don't confuse it with the pair of wires that go to the 3-pronged connector on the regulator/rectifier.
