About Tom Adinolfi
Expertise Can, and will, answer most questions pertaining to small engine repair, and service. But PLEASE furnish me with the proper Model numbers, and types to assure me to be able to answer your questions the most accurately as possible. If the problem is dealing with the frame, drive, or deck portion I need the manufactures numbers, if it is the engine itself, I need it's make and model numbers, rather than the frame's. Tom

Question QUESTION: Had a plugged jet in the carb took it apart and reassembled it. Carb throat attaches to engine with a bakelite spacer an engine shield various gaskets and then air filter. Gas is leaking from where the spacer and engine shield attach. Did I screw up by putting back the gaskets incorrectly or did I not torque the two bolts that hold the air filter and carb to the engine. Please advise
ANSWER: Sometimes it's tough to get everything all back on with only two hands with those Honda's. Has a gasket slipped on you, is the insulator turn the correct way? Those bolts don't require a over abundance of torque. Fairly snug should get it done. What worries me is why you have so much fuel coming out there anyhow, sounds as if it's flooding somewhat. ....Tom

QUESTION: Thanks. Important addition. The leak occurs when the engine is stopped and the gas line is open. Was wondering if the float in the carb is not stopping the flow of gas so that it just runs out. It that a possibility? Would you have a schematic that shows where the gaskets are supposed to be?
Answer yes you sound correct with the assumption of the needle vale at the float not sealing correctly.....One gasket goes between the insulator, and the engine, another between the engine, and carb, another between the carb, and air filter housing..........Tom
