Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.)/Chainsaw bar oil

Question
My Husky 455 Chainsaw is dripping with bar oil. With the pump setting at its lowest, cutting for only a few minutes and the oil is dripping off the bottom of the motor. After cutting a tree, the saw leaves a big puddle in its storage case. Yet, at the low setting, when at cutting rpm, the oil spray line is barely noticeable from end of the bar. I have cleaned the bar's oil hole and grooves. With the bar off, I verified the pump only works when the clutch is turning. I am using Quaker State Dura-tac bar %26 chain oil. Should I use a heavier oil grade?
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Answer
I prefer Stihl oil as it is a tackier than other brand bar oil.  As for the puddle you are seeing it is normal for oil to collect at the back upper portion of the chain cover and then drips out when you stop using the saw.  If you want, you can clean the aera with parts cleaner after using the saw to minimize oil drip.

If you fill the oil full when you are through using the saw, then put it away, does the oil level remain the same when you go to use the saw again?  Basically, does the oil resivor leak oil when the saw is not being used?

Experience

Born and raised in the midwest. Started tinkering with engines when I was about 14 on my Suzuki RM-80. I began lawn mower repair at a small hardware store. I knew absolutely nothing. I read lots of repair manuals and met an older fellow who taught me many lessons. I continued working on small engines through high school and paid my way through college working on mowers at the same hardware store. Decided to get away from the midwest and mower repair so I joined the Air Force. I repaired air traffic control electronic equipment and ended up in Hawaii where I got a part time job at Small Engine Clinic. I gained a lot of experience from the Small Engine Clinic and had a blast repairing small engines. I then took the Briggs and Stratton Master Service Technician test and earned my MST. I then traveled to Wisconsin where I attended the factory update training seminar and received formal training. I received a scholarship from the Air Force and am currently pursuing another degree.
