Question i got a old briggs an straton 8hp an some times it dont want to start but after i fiddle around with it for about an houre ill fire right up an after it worms up i can turn it off an on as many times as i want but once i let it sit an cool off an go to start it agen i got to fiddle withthe carb for awhile iv all ready replased the magneto once because it wasnt goten fire ive aready cleand the carb an every thing i just need a help with the carb ajustments because now its flooden it selfe out now i can cleen the plug an put it back n an ill hit once or twice then i have to clean it agen whats your apinion
Answer I believe you have a dirty carb, but the source is before the carb. I suggest you clean your fuel tank, fuel lines and yes the carb one more time. Lets make sure you have clean and proper fuel flow to the engine.
IF you still have a problem, I would be looking at doing a valve job. IT sounds like the valves are not sealing properly. Pay particular attention to the intake valve at this point. Perhaps a simple lapping of the valves is all that is necessary.
