Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.)/Oil in Carburetor

I had a related problem.  Gas coming out of muffler, oil coming into carb.  A 29 yr old 3hp Briggs 9xxxx series.  Took off the head and cleaned it up - valves and piston looked good.  Finally looked at carb and choke valve was just laying there missing its screw.  Screws don't evaporate so I looked in the carb, fuel tank, fuel tube (metal tube) and viola found it had been sucked into the intake valve and luckily didn't do any damage.  Put the screw where it belongs and she started on the first pull.
