I purchased a Honda mower (Engine model HRR2164VXA, S/N MZCG-7750581) last summer and promptly ran over a steel pipe bending the crankshaft and resulting in a horrible vibration when the the mower was run. I decided to fix the problem this summer, contacted my local Honda rep to verify I was ordering the correct part number, and purchased a new crankshaft, Honda code 6647341. Before the repair the mower would start and run great, although with a horrible vibration. I replaced the crankshaft and can see that the clutch and blade are now turning true, but now I can't get the engine to start. Each time I pull the cord I hear 3 to 4 puffs, but it never fires up. I did not touch the carburetor during the repair and have verified that I am getting a spark when the cord is pulled. I also checked to see if gas is getting to the cylinder and everything seems ok. What could I have done to kill this engine?

I am sure that it is out of timing, causeing the engine not to fire on the correct cylinder. The number you gave me is the mower model # not the engine #. I need the numbers off the engine they are stamped on the engine and are hard to read.
are you Trying to get TDC on crank in proper position relative to timing gear
