Question iv been working my rototiller for awwile, and i have no spark, i no quite abit about motors but i cant figure this one out. Its a tecumseh H60-75480m, i uesed it a year ago and this year it just didnt run so i put new points and coil in it and i still have no spark. iv did everyhting i no to do and still cant seem to figure it out . i feel something is grounding it out . im lost , please help, what am i messing
Answer Disconnect your ground wire from the coil. Test and see if you have spark. If you do you have a faulty kill switch/interlock safety switch.
you didn't put the coil in upside down did you? Are the points closing completely? Run a piece of white paper through the points to remove any oily residue. Oily residue will prevent an engine from sparking. The oil coating is put on the points during manufacturing to prevent them from rusting while on the shelf.
