Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.) - chainsaw propblems

Expert: Michael - 12/15/2005

Question
I have a craftman chainsaw that says 2.0 16" on the blade. It dies after it has been running a short time. Five min+-. It acts like it runs out of gas, but there is plenty of gas in the tank. What are the correct settings for the two adjustments on the carb? THANKS for any help you can give me.     JERRY

Answer
Hi Jerry,

The high speed jet should be set at 1&1/2 turns out and the low speed jet, set at 3/4 turn out.
Check for good fuel flow at the carb inlet.  The carb may be in need of rebuilding, including a new diaphram.

Let me know how you make out.
Michael
