Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.) - changing the oil in lawnmower

Expert: Marc Mielhausen - 6/1/2005

Question
I can't find my manual for my craftsman 22" rear discharge bagging/mulcher mower 6.75hp eager-1. How do you drain the oil out to change the oil

Answer
The drain plug is usually located on the underside of the engine.  Make sure you first remove the spark plug lead and keep away from the spark plug (to prevent accidental starting).  Tip the mower spark plug up and look for a drain plug.  Open the plug and drain all of the oil out.  Put in fresh oil with the mower on level ground so you get the correct amount back in.  Hope this helps.
