Question -
hello, i have a craftsman lawnmower with a briggs and straton 14 hp.  the mower model is 917.25490.   the engine model is 303777. type 0015-02.  the lawmower is not charging.  the regulator is a 10-16 amp with two yellow wired from stator and one red out.  there is only 11.6 volts comming out of red wire from regulator.  checked the stator and made sure it was clean and looks alright.  connections look good. tried to see if and voltage was on two yellow wired from stator and could not get any to register, not sure why. oh yeah, the battery is brand new. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi Chris!

Dose the mower start and run? And if so,is it just not charging the battery?
Let me know & we will go form there!

Answer
Hi, If the mower starts with starting fluid, What makes you think that it is somthing with the charging system?
It sound like a fuel problem! Have you checked the fuel filter?? If the filter is ok then there is somthing in the carb that is obstructing the fuel! Alot of time there is some debris in the port were the neddle jet is. try cleaning the carb and see what happens.
