Question Our Oster Kitchen Center only operates at high speed, regardless of where the speed control knob is set. Reading from previous answers that you gave to other people with the same problem, that the capacitor may be the culprit, we replaced it, since a new one was rather inexpensive. But the problem still remains. What would you recommend that we should check next?
Answer The capacitor replacement will work on mixers but not on Kitchen Center bases. If you have a base unit that has a pc board speed control in it, I can not help as I have been out of these circuit boards for over a year now and Sunbeam stopped making them over 5 years ago. If you have an older machanical speed control there may be some hope. There is an adjustment that can sometimes be made and they will work again. If you have a circuit board it will be located on the inside of the front of the unit. A mechanical control is located on the armature lower end.
If you can not get your unit working again, I do have some rebuilt base units for sale. Let me know if you are interested. Thank you.
