Question Hi, I was wondering if there are any sites/links you can direct me to that will tell me any info on a Universal Electric Portable Stove (single unit with multi-therm control) made by Landers, Frary & Clark in New Britain, CT.
It looks like an old electric hot plate....but they call it a stove on the package.
I have one; but cannot find any sites that have info on it.
Thx,
Sherry
Answer It was made by the Universal Electric Co. not Landers, Frary and Clark. They were a large dept. store out east that sold the units. Universal was bought out by General Electric who was bought out by Black and Decker. That is the end of the line as I know it as they were bought out by some company in China and I have lost track of them. I think this unit may have been made in the 1940's or early 50's.

Try Ebay and see if there are any of these for sale. This should give you an idea of what it is worth.
