Question
Found this handmixer while cleaning cupboards. Getting the beaters to stay in has defeated two of us. We have tried turning counter clockwise in position, pushing straight in etc.
What is the trick?
The engine works but smells....does it need oiling and where does the oil go?

Many thank for volunteering. This is an amazing website.

Answer
You should be able to just push the first beater in and it should stay there.  The second beater should be inserted at a 90 degree angle to the first.  If they are not staying in, there is a problem with the beaters. If the motor smells, there is not much that can be done without taking the whole mixer apart.  I hope this helps.
