Question
Motor seems slow and smells like its burning. Are parts available to fix PLUS stainless needs to be polished will this affect its worth? Also my Daughter is starting a baking business and is burning out new mixers. Is this mixer strong enough for thick batters?

Answer
If she is in business and using a mixer a lot she should invest in a Kitchen Aid mixer.  If she would like to get an older mixer, try Ebay and see if she can get a model K 5 or K 45 mixer.  This is not one with the electronic speed control and DC motor.  There have been problems with the new units burning out speed control units.  The older models seem to last longer.

Dormeyer has not made mixers for over 25 years and there are no parts available to repair your mixer.  Tell her to run the mixer as fast as she can without tossing things out of the bowl.  This will cool the unit better and it will last longer.
